The popularity of coconut oil has grown by leaps and bounds. Coconut oil has been used for thousands of years, so it’s not really a new phenomenon, but what is new is our interest in it.

We’re just recognizing  its many health benefits like the fact that coconut oil is the greatest source of  lauric acid on the planet. Lauric acid helps to fight viruses like HIV and herpes, influenza, measles, gram-negative bacteria, and protozoa such as giardia lamblia.

Also, if you’re looking for a non-vegetable carbohydrate source of energy, coconut oil and meat is an ideal supply. Coconut oil truly does wonders for the body both inside and out.

Pamper Your Skin With Coconut Oil

Coconut oil is an excellent moisturizer that leaves the skin feeling uber soft with a pleasant tropical scent. Coconut oil penetrates far below the surface layer of the skin for added benefit.

You can quickly soothe your dry hands with coconut oil. Keep a jar of coconut oil by the bathroom sink and the kitchen sink. Then apply a little after you wash your hands.

It’s anti-fungal and antibacterial properties make it a healthier and better choice than the customary anti-bacterial soaps and lotions.

It is also an excellent body moisturizer. It will keep your skin hydrated and reduce water loss. Having soft skin has never been easier. Nourish and smooth your skin, while enjoying the sensual fragrance.

If you are looking for a luxurious body scrub the secrets out. You can find it in coconut oil mixed with a little sugar from your kitchen.

This body scrub will remove dead skin, improve circulation, and moisturize all at once. It’s inexpensive and will invigorate the skin.

Melt ½ cup of coconut oil, let it cool, and then pour it over 1 cup of brown sugar and stir. You can add a few drops of your favorite essential oil or add some pure vanilla extract for a decadent fragrance.

Coconut Oil for Your Face

You can also use coconut oil to wash your face. First remove your eye makeup using a cotton ball with a little oil on it. Even waterproof mascara will easily disappear. It breaks down waxy makeup easily and leaves this delicate area hydrated.

Next, you can wash and moisturize your face all in one-step. Apply a little coconut oil in your hands and then gently massage it in a circular motion.

Simply wash off the residue with warm water. You can then apply a fresh thin layer of coconut oil as a moisturizer.

Coconut oil has antioxidants to help prevent aging from free radicals. The anti-bacteria properties of coconut oil will also help the face stay clean from bacteria that can cause bumps, pimples, and acne.

If your face is looking a little tired,  perk it up with a little coconut highlighter. All you need to do is take a tiny amount of coconut oil and sweep it on top of your foundation. Just leave it there and your skin will glow.

Coconut Oil for Your Hair

Coconut oil makes an excellent deep conditioner for your hair because it can penetrate deep into the hair shaft and prevent the loss of protein.

Apply it to your hands, then work through your hair. Comb the coconut oil through your hair then pile your hair on top of your head. Put a shower cap on and leave on overnight or at least for a few hours. Follow up with shampoo as usual.

For hair shine and dry-end therapy, you can apply a tiny amount in your hands, rub it on your hair ends and then sparingly smooth it out through your hair.

Coconut Oil for Your Immune System

Coconut oil is bar-none one of the best ways to boost your immune system. When you ingest coconut oil you are providing your body with essential nutrients that promote a healthy body such as a healthy source of saturated fat and lauric acid, the most important essential fatty acid in building and maintaining a healthy immune system.

When your immune system is functioning optimally, it shows in your physical well-being  and over-all appearance such as in the texture of your skin, hair, and even in the smell of your breath.

Coconut oil is a wonderful addition to your beauty regimen. Apply it directly on your skin or swallow a teaspoon full and experience the health benefits. Either way you can’t go wrong with a little coconut in your life!
